Saturday’s game was the end of the Clippers three-game losing streak and now the Clippers stand at 27 – 21 and are in fourth place in the West. The Clippers shot well and out-shot the Grizzlies 101 to 85. At half-time, the Clippers led 56 to 42 and the Clippers kept the momentum up for the rest of the game as they score 25 points in the 3^rd quarter and 20 more points in the final quarter.

Clippers top players Chris Paul and Blake Griffin both played well and racked up a lot of impressive stats. Chris Paul had 19 points with 13 assists, two steals, and one rebound. Blake Griffin scored 20 points with 10 rebounds, five assists, and one steal. The Grizzlies starters totaled 51 points and their top player Zach Randolph scored 14 points. Moreover, the Clippers bench only scored a combined 26 points compared to the Grizzlies 34 bench points.

Yesterday’s game against the New Orleans Hornets was a pretty big moment for Chris Paul. There was a video tribute to Paul reflecting on his time with the Hornets and students participating in CP3’s Afterschool Zone program were out at the game to support him as well. The Clippers lost the game 90-97, but Paul played well and was able to show his former team that he’s still got it.

The game against the Hornets, like the other two games this week, started strong with the Clippers racking up 35 points in the first quarter. The second and third quarters were a little less strong, but the Clippers had a 13-point lead in the third quarter. In the fourth, the Clippers stopped making shots and only landed 11 points. They also gave the Hornets 34 free throws, which didn’t help things very much.

Relative to this season, the Clippers will have a little bit more room to breathe heading into this home stretch and looking ahead to April. If they can recover from this month, there’s still plenty of play left for the Clippers to get back to the top. Tuesday night the Clippers were going into an evenly matched game, but they were unable to keep up the momentum throughout the game. All-Star forward Blake Griffin managed to land 23 points and Chris Paul had 16, but the rest of the team struggled to make shots while the Pacers reserve team was shooting at about 60%.

Wednesday night was another tough one for the Clippers who lost again to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite losing their last four of seven, the Thunder have risen to the top of the Western Conference (the Clippers are currently fifth). This could have been anyone’s game, but the Clippers were still shooting badly, Blake Griffin only made seven points, and the Thunder managed to consistently make shots.

While tonight will be their third game in three days, the Clippers definitely have a chance to win one against New Orleans. What also seems to be working is the talk the Clippers had after their loss on Thursday. If the guys can keep this up, there seems to be no reason why they can’t be in the playoffs this year.

This week, the Clippers are again victims of this season’s schedule with four games including three games-in-a-row Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
